Polish Grammar 1. Basics is a video course for self-study focusing on selected areas of Polish grammar at elementary level.

In your own pace, but with my support, you will step by step discover and practice Polish grammar.

Who is this course for?

Polish Grammar 1. Basics is a course for learners who have just started their journey with the Polish language and for those who want to refresh their knowledge, and want to learn the basics of Polish grammar in an organized way, with clear explanations given in English.

What will you learn?

In this course, you will learn the very basics of Polish grammar:

  • create basic sentences, including negations and questions
  • recognize the genders of the nouns
  • build female forms of nouns
  • use adjectives of different gender
  • use personal pronouns (ja, ty, on, etc.)
  • use demonstrative pronouns (ten, ta, to)
  • use possessive pronouns (mój, twój, jego, etc.)
  • use polite forms (pan, pani, państwo)
  • conjugate the verbs ‘być’ and ‘mieć’
  • use basic conjunctions (i, a, ale, lecz, etc.)
  • place the words in the correct order in the sentence

What does the course consist of?

The course includes 22 video lessons, streamed online. Each video takes around 5-10 minutes to complete and focuses on one particular area of grammar. The material is organized in grammatical categories, such as sentence structure, nouns, adjectives, pronouns or verbs. At the end of the course, you will find summary lessons, that will help you review the knowledge that you gained throughout the course.

The course includes also a downloadable study book in a PDF format, organized in a clear way. It includes the theory presented in the video lessons, many exercises and an answer key.

    Indicating things (to jest)
    In this lesson, you will learn how to indicate things and people using the structure ‘to jest’ and ‘to są’.
